Why do I see "Lost connection to MySQL server during query"?, For about 10 minutes I could not connect to MySQL Options

SYMPTOMS

You see the following message:-

Please check mysql_config.php! Reason: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

CAUSE

Your server has restarted and has not connected to the database yet.

SOLUTION

Wait for a few minutes and try again. Note your browser may cache the response so use Ctrl-F5 to clear it or open a fresh browser.

FURTHER INFORMATION

This is normal behaviour. To keep your website protected and performing at it's best security patches and configuration requirements sometimes mean the server has to be restarted.

Most of the time we would like to do this during a quiet period but that is not always possible.
